Brazos Valley Center for Independent Living (BVCIL) believes lack of transportation options should not be a barrier to accessing the community for people with disabilities. As such, BVCIL provides Above and Beyond transportation services. We start with providing Mobility Management to help you find out what transportation options are available to you and which options work best for you. We can help you navigate any application processes or help train you on how to use various forms of transportation. When there are just no options left, BVCIL has available an “Above and Beyond” transportation program that takes on nights, weekends, and holidays for people with no other option and in need of accessible transportation.
We have eight accessible vehicles ranging from Toyota mini-vans up to the “Transporter”, our lift-equipped bus that seats two wheelchairs and up to eight passengers. We provide a tiered fee transportation program to get you where you want to go:
- BVCIL Events, Classes, and Meetings
- Employment
- Groceries
- Multi-County in-area rides
- Out of Area, long-distance rides
All transportation is based on the availability of a driver, schedule openings, and individual’s accessibility needs. Unfortunately, we are not able to cover everyone, everytime but are will help find other options in the area.
