DADS has issued the following Provider Alert(s):
DADS Needs your Feedback about Direct Support Workforce Stability
DADS is partnering with the National Association of State Directors of Developmental Disabilities Services (NASDDDS) and Human Services Research Institute (HSRI) in a National Core Indicator’s survey collecting information from provider agencies about direct support workforce stability across the United States. The survey will collect information about direct service support staffing levels, job stability, wages, and compensation.
Texas, as the second most populous state in the United States, has the opportunity to play a major role in the survey results. The information obtained by this survey will be used to:
- inform policy and program development
- monitor and evaluate outcomes
- provide context for consumer and family outcomes, and
- build systems to more effectively collect, analyze, and use direct service support workforce data
Your participation is critical. If all of the agencies providing services to adults with IDD in Texas participated in the survey, Texas could play a significant role in crafting future policies nationally and on the state level. This is your opportunity to raise awareness of staff issues facing agencies serving adults with IDD in a national forum.
DADS is requesting all DADS provider agencies that primarily provide services to adults with IDD to participate in this exciting opportunity by responding to HSRI’s email and completing a survey. The survey will be starting the end of this week and ending June 30th.
Your company’s specific information will be kept confidential and will not affect your status as a Texas provider. Any reports produced using this data will only contain data aggregated over multiple providers. For example, information may be reported for Texas as a whole, or for a particular region or service type, but not about specific providers. A copy of the survey questionnaire is available on the DADS website.
You will be receiving an email from HSRI inviting you to participate in this Staff Stability Survey. They will provide you with a webinar on how to complete the survey and a unique log-in that will enable you to enter survey responses into their database. The survey should be completed by your Human Resources or Payroll offices. Specific instructions will be included with the survey. Please complete the survey promptly.
Your participation will help inform policy decisions regarding Texas’ Direct Support Professionals. DADS is excited for Texas to be a state who is participating in this survey in partnership with NASDDDS and HSRI. If you have any questions regarding the Staff Stability Survey, please contact Rebecca Martin at rebecca.martin@dads.state.tx.
Thank you for participating in this important work.
